LSS/NCA relies on private gifts from congregations, individuals, and the community to support the daily needs of our organization throughout the fiscal year (October 1 through September 30).

Does $50 really make a difference?
Absolutely! Every gift makes a difference, be it $5 or $5,000,000. Although we are cost-efficient (if not frugal), the funding we receive from contracts and grants doesn’t completely cover the costs of running Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSS/NCA) each year. We rely on donations from individuals, congregations, and the community to support our mission and help ensure another 90 years of service.

Make Your Choice to Give Back
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be launching a new giving program this Spring 2010, Thrivent Choice℠, which will let members help choose where Thrivent Financial gives back to the community. Members have two choices: to vote to distribute a portion of funds to a short list of national charities or Choice Dollars℠, which directs Thrivent Choice Dollars to thousands of Lutheran nonprofit organizations.
