REFUGEE & IMMIGRANT SERVICES COMMUNITY OUTREACH SERVICES
COMMUNITY OUTREACH SERVICES includes volunteer involvement which provides additional support and resources for the community members. Through educational and cultural opportunities, including English language tutoring, social outings, arts programs, and special events, volunteers assist the family’s adjustment to its new community. Education and advocacy in the form of presentations to school and church groups, a quarterly newsletter, and updates on legislative issues also allow opportunities for the community to learn about refugees and immigrants. Asylum Counseling offers legal, immigration services in the application process, representation at the INS, and advocacy and support through the asylum process.
