    Refugee Financial Literacy Project

 

 

 

Changing Lives

 

Our Refugee Financial Literacy Project (RFLP) sets refugees and asylees on the path

of building wealth for themselves, future generations, and the community.

 

With weekly classes, participants learn how to develop personal money management skills such as to:

bullet

set realistic goals and priorities;

bullet

understand their paycheck;

bullet

open and manage a checking account;

bullet

obtain and/or maintain credit;

bullet

find out how to get out of debt;

bullet

design a manageable spending and savings plan;

bullet

become aware of money drainers such as check cashing operations, rent-to-own stores, and predatory lending.
