Lead a refugee along the road to self-sufficiency by providing
orientation to the U.S. workplace, looking for job opportunities,
conducting practice interviews, and following-up with employers.

Bosnian, Vietnamese, Somali, Arabic, and Haitian Creole speakers
needed to translate for medical appointments and orientations.

Share specialized skills to help a refugee make their way in their

Driving Instructor: Help to pass the written and
road tests.
- Bus/Metro Instructor:
Assist
with bus and metro routes, tickets, schedules, and transfers.

Shopping:
Provide
orientation to understanding unit pricing, comparison shopping,
coupons, and budgeting.

Transportation:
Be
available for trips to the doctor, job interviews, social services
appointments.

Orientation/Acculturation:
Teach basic survival skill workshops
and explain U.S. culture, customs, and laws.

Recreational:
Organize social events. Take refugees to museums, parks, concerts,
and sporting events.
